A shelf full of books.

Welcome back to Hillside Commons Blog. This blog is a space where we will share all of our favorite apartment living tips and tricks as well as what’s happening in the Oneonta, NY area. In today’s post, we are sharing a few of our favorite book titles. Your apartment is the perfect place to relax and curl up with a great book. Reading has so many benefits and can help take your mind off the typical stresses of everyday life. Reading before bed can also help you sleep better! Below are some great reads as well as a review of each.

Small Great Things by Jodi Picoult — “Jodi Picoult is never afraid to take on hot topics, and in Small Great Things, she tackles race and discrimination in a way that will grab hold of you and refuse to let you go. . . . This page-turner is perfect for book clubs.” — Popsugar

Empty Mansions by Bill Dedman — “A compelling account of what happened to the Clark family and its fortune . . . a tremendous feat.” — St. Louis Post-Dispatch

All The Missing Girls by Megan Miranda — “Are you paying attention? You'll need to be; this thriller will test your brain with its reverse chronological structure, and it's a page-turner to boot.” — ELLE

The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell — “Gladwell, a New Yorker staff writer, offers an incisive and piquant theory of social dynamics that is bound to provoke a paradigm shift in our understanding of mass behavioral change. Defining such dramatic turnarounds as the abrupt drop in crime on New York’s subways, or the unexpected popularity of a novel, as epidemics, Gladwell searches for catalysts that precipitate the ‘tipping point,’ or critical mass, that generates those events.” — Booklist
